The Bespin Wing Guard outfit highlighted the limits of the old customization system: a body Appearance that featured a visible human face would make multiple players with the same skin look like clones of each other.

At this time, the old Appearance system was still in place, resulting in the Bespin Wing Guard body Appearance changing the entire outfit of the Rebel soldier, but the human face was always that of Human 8. The Bespin Update added the Bespin Wing Guard body Appearance for the Rebels and the Shock Trooper body Appearance for the Empire. In Star Wars Battlefront, players have a separate character in the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire whose head and outfit they can customize with head and body Appearances.
